Everyone takes a ferry
Cars stay on the mainland. Drive all the way, or fly and continue by car, to a Shepler’s dock. Then park and board.
Drive the whole way
I-75 to Mackinaw City or St. Ignace. Park at Shepler’s, then board the ferry.
Fly, then continue by car
Land at Traverse City or Pellston, then a rental car or the Pellston shuttle to the same docks.
Two mainland docks, one island
Michigan splits at the Straits of Mackinac. The island sits between Mackinaw City and St. Ignace. Ferries from either dock take about 25 minutes — you only need one.

Fly, then continue by car
A commercial flight gets you to northern Michigan, not onto the island. Both airports are in the Lower Peninsula. Continue to Mackinaw City — not across the bridge — then Shepler’s.

Pellston shuttle. From Pellston only, shuttle service to the ferry docks is available by reservation — see the airport site.

Luggage at the dock
At the mainland dock, Shepler’s will tag your bags and send them to Mission Point. Keep the claim ticket and pick them up at the resort bell stand.

Getting to Mission Point Resort
Your luggage is already headed to the hotel. From the docks, turn right: walk, bike, or take the Mission Point shuttle.
